To put it simply the person who gets closest to 21 wins and if you and the dealer end up with a draw no money is lost or gained.
The objective is to achieve a hand value of 21 or as close to it as possible without exceeding it.
If you go over 21, you lose the hand. The closer you get to 21, the better your chances of winning. If both you and the dealer end up with the same total, it results in a draw, and no money is won or lost.
If you draw 21 on the first round, aka a natural blackjack, win your 1.5x your bet.
If the dealer draws a natural blackjack, you automatically lose your bet.
To simplify, the "hit" option allows you to request an additional card, the "stand" option means you choose to keep your current hand without taking any more cards, and the "double" option doubles your original bet and grants you one more card.
Cards such as King, Queen, and Jack are valued at 10, Ace can be 1 or 11, depending on your hand.
